Week 24 - Minor Setbacks build character and resiliency
Let's chalk the performance this weekend up as post-tournament fatigue. We had a solid passing game. There was good sustained pressure and we missed a LOT of scoring chances. At the end of the game though, the team that won was a bit more disciplined and capitalized on our mistakes. The largest factor, in my mind, was lazy back-checking at times and uncharacteristic selfish play.
The lesson to take away from this game is that we can't play down to our competition and think we can deviate from our game plan. Team is more important than individual. You have an opportunity to use that frustration as fuel and embrace the lessons we learn for the upcoming state tournament.
See you on the ice!
